Everton have made an offer for the services of Hamilton Accies striker Euan Lindsay who is line to feature for Scotland schoolboys next Friday evening in a live match on Sky Sports.
The 15 year old has been a top scorer at all age levels in Hamilton"s youth ranks and following a training camp in Jersey, Everton have made an approach for the Largs Academy pupil.
Euan and his family have been invited to Everton for four days to weigh up the offer with the young teen hotshot set to feature in an under 16 league encounter against Stoke City on Saturday. Two years ago, the youngster told the 'News' that his main aim was to play in the Premiership and he could take a step closer to that reality next weekend.
One of the many young players to make his name at Everton over the years was current Champions League winner Wayne Rooney at Manchester United and scored a memorable goal at the age of 16 to end Arsenal"s long unbeaten run.
Mum Donna Lindsay of Blythswood Crescent said: 'We have known about Everton"s interest for a few weeks. Hamilton have taken the matter onboard and have encouraged us to go down to Everton to look at the facilities down there. It is serious enough for Everton to send us an itinerary and pay for us all go down and put us up in a hotel and someone to drive us to the training academy. Euan played for Tottenham Hotspur in a fixture earlier in the season.
'Euan is delighted to have been selected for the Scotland under-16 squad to play against Wales. He is really excited about the Victory Sheild I will be asking everyone to tape it so that I can see it when I get back! He has been really enjoying his football this season and plays for under 19s one week and then under 17s the next week. Hamilton have been fantastic and Euan is treated very well. Euan cannot feature in the SPL as he needs to be 16. Hamilton play their last league game of the season on the day of Euan"s 16th birthday and they have said they could play him if the match is not a crucial one.'
Sky Sports will be featuring the Scotland V Wales under 16 Victory Shield clash on Friday 17 October at 7.30pm.
