Anyone for all weather tennis? It was an overwhelming yes from Largs Tennis Club who are hoping to apply to the Weir Charitable Trust as well as other funding bodies to help with providing an improved playing surface at Douglas Park.

This was one of the issues raised at last week's AGM held at the Woodhouse Hotel in Largs last Thursday evening.

Chairman Fiona Page came up with the 'Ace' masterplan for the club, and stated that one of the biggest obstacles in using their home at Douglas Park was the poor quality blaes surface, and believed the club had a great opportunity at Douglas Park to gain all weather courts. Junior coaching takes place throughout the summer months, as well as a range of league and cup competitions in connection with Tennis Ayrshire, which Largs teams compete in, from the main Ayrshire doubles league, to Ayrshire Masters, and a new singles league which has been recently introduced.
