The nights may be fair drawing in, but it is not going to stop Largs Tennis Club this year!

Largs Tennis Club is extending its season until the end of this year by moving up to Inverclyde Sports Centre.

Members of the club will be able to play on Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings for the princely sum of £1 each time they play.

The tennis club had met with Inverclyde Sports Centre to arrange use of their all weather tennis surface.

In the past, the club season has drawn to a finish around the end of September because of darker evenings, but club evenings this summer at Douglas Park have been few and far between because of rainy days.

Secretary Gavin MacLellan explained: “As the weather has been so bad this summer the committee have hired courts at Inverclyde to extend the season through the Autumn to Christmas. “The club will pay for these sessions during September to compensate members for the lack of court time available during the summer.” The session times are: Sunday afternoons: two courts from 2pm to 4pm, and Monday evenings: two courts from 6pm to 9pm These sessions are for members only and flood lighting will be switched on when required.
