Welcome to our new regular Inverclyde Sports Centre column. The all new inclusive centre is approaching its first anniversary in April, and is linking up with the new Largs Campus and also hosts a diverse range of community sport.
The aim of the column is to give you an idea of the different groups who are visiting the centre, and interesting events and activities taking place at the centre.
* Inverclyde Sports Centre was the venue for the SFA Para-Football conference attended by Sports Minister, Aileen Campbell
* The centre is gearing up to host the RYA Scotland (Royal Yachting Association) conference and awards evening next weekend
* Pay as you go gymnastics classes are a great way to get involved in the sport. Inverclyde have a pre-school free play class on a Monday at 9am – 11am and an adult class (over 18s) on a Thursday evening at 8.30pm
* The centre now have available spaces for our brand new Baby Massage classes that had been fully booked. We are looking for a new intake! Book your place in either the Tuesday or Friday class, both running at 1.30pm
* During the primary school closure days on the 7,8,9 March the sports centre is running multi-sport camps on all three days to hopefully help some of the parents who might be struggling for time off or just need something for the children to do. The camps are running between 10 and 4 every day, drop off starts at 9.30am and pick up until 4.30pm. The days cost £12.50 and all the children need is a packed lunch and our coaches will look after the rest. A range of activities that everyone will enjoy!
Inverclyde Principal Barry Fleeting said: "“Inverclyde is a pretty special place and always has been. We want everyone who visits to have a very positive sporting experience.”
