Thistle showed they are up for the promotion battle after bouncing back from Wednesday's defeat to Kilwinning, coming back from a goal down away at Clydebank to secure a valuable point at Holm Park. Alan Gilbride's second half equaliser could prove crucial in the promotion run-in as Thistle showed their fighting spirit against Clydebank, who are ten points behind Thistle in the league, although have five games in hand. After a deep cross from the right, Burbidge opened the scoring for the home side with a header at the far post on 22 minutes, and ex-Thistle striker Nicky Little was on the end of a good opening but blasted over the bar. Graham Muir then struck the left post towards the interval as Largs chased a leveller. Largs had the lion's share of possession in the second half as Gilbride lashed the ball into the roof of the net during a goalmouth scramble following a Graham Muir corner on 55 minutes. Muir nearly gave Largs all three points as he was on the end of a fast flowing move but couldn't find the net as the Bankies keeper managed to divert the ball over the bar. Bankies had some late chances, including Burbidge rounding keeper Ross Lundy in the dying minutes, but hit the side-netting. However, Largs will be delighted with how they coped with the Clydebank pressure, and Bryan Slavin told the 'News' afterwards it was the club's best overall display for a while, and believed Largs controlled most of the game. However, Clydebank manager Budgie McGhie said he believed his side had the better chances and should have won the game outright. Watch Thistle's equalising goal from Alan Gilbride below..
