Thistle gave Talbot a good run for their money as the Premier League champions endured an uneasy afternoon at Beechwood Park.
Defender Nicky Jamieson was back after a back injury.
Talbot moved ahead on four minutes in this McBookie.com encounter as Largs were dispossessed, and Bryan Young skipped away to deliver into the roof of the net. John Tennent slammed a diagonal effort just past the post for Thistle.
Robert Love lobbed the keeper after a short pass back but it finished over the bar. Largs could have been 2-1 up!
Keeper Ross Lundy made a superb reaction save from Boyle, before Eddie Walton replaced the injured Gilbride.
Talbot controversially moved two goals ahead after Harvey forced the ball home on 18 minutes, but their corner seemed to be headed back into play from beyond the line.
Largs responded promptly as Love headed home at the near post from Glenn Thomson’s corner.
Talbot pushed forward in the second half but hit the post, and Lundy produced a marvellous stop before Wilson headed over the bar with the goal at his mercy.
There was a big moment as Talbot’s Wilson was booked for diving after a Walton challenge in the penalty box. McMaster nearly scored in the dying minutes but nodded wide.
Largs deserved much more from this encounter after buckets of endeavour.
