Thistle boss Stuart Davidson reckons his big signing this season Iain Fisher will be unfazed by facing his former team-mates in the West of Scotland Cup 2nd round tie, 2pm kick-off at Barrfields Park.

Fisher missed out on the recent league encounter because of a holiday, so this is the first time the full-back will play against the Scottish Cup champions, since leaving them in  October.

The attacking wing-back was an ever present in last season's Beith side, and featured in last season's Scottish Cup final at Rugby Park.

So could 'Fish' net a big cup scalp and play a role in knocking the Garnock Valley side out of the West?

It is a 2pm kick-off at Barrfields Park,  and the match will go straight to penalties if a draw.

Stuart said: "We haven't done particularly well in the cups in recent years, and have gone out quite early, so we are hoping to change that this weekend.

"The fans have been terrific, and deserve a wee cup run, and we will give it everything as we try to progress. We have played Beith a couple of times this season and we are well aware of their strength and depth."

It is a big game for Fisher who featured for Beith in their Scottish Cup win last season, but Stuart said: "Fisher is quite a laid back character and not too much phases him."

Largs have injuries to contend with as Creag Little spent Saturday evening in hospital, but his leg injury isn't as bad as first feared, and could be back for Saturday. But with Alan Gilbride also out injured, the Thistle boss may look to the Under 19s once more to bolster their squad. He said: "I keep hearing good things about the under 19s, so this could be their opportunity to step up and get involved."

Looking at the Talbot display, Stuart said: ""It was two errors on our part for the goals, and perhaps we started a bit nervously given Auchinleck's reputation, but after that, the boys just went and gave their all, and I really can't fault them."

"I think Talbot were delighted to hear the full-time whistle - Laurie McMaster showed great endeavour to get up their for that last chance."

Largs drew with Beith in the Ardagh Cup earlier in the season, and narrowly lost 1-0 in the recent McBookie.com Premier League encounter.
