Largs Thistle 6 Bonnyton Thistle 0
The Thistle kids extended the win streak to eleven with a comfortable win over Bonnyton Thistle at Inverclyde on Tuesday evening.
Bonnyton started the game four points behind Thistle with two games in hand.
Thistle deservedly took the lead in 35 minutes when Cammy Ferguson ran onto a square pass from Reece Allen and curled the ball, first time, round the keeper from outside the box, into the top corner.
Largs upped the pace in the second half and doubled their lead almost immediately when new signing Brad Morrison, ran onto a through ball from Allen, and slid the ball home to score on his competitive debut.
The game was ended as a contest ten minutes later when an in swinging Jamie Mills corner from the right hand side was headed home by Allen from six yards.
A fluent passing move down the right ended in a low Ferguson shot from outside the box, which the goalkeeper couldn’t hold, and Robert Jack followed up to poke the ball home for no.4.
Jack added his second when he and Iain Bell closed the Bonnyton central defender down. The ball broke to Bell who fed it through. Jack got to the bye line, checked inside and beat the keeper on his near post.
Jack, who had been a thorn in the side of the Bonnyton defence throughout, finished the scoring, and completed his hat trick, five minutes from time. He ran clear of the full back and finished superbly with a low shot into the bottom left hand corner of the net.
The only downside was the hamstring injury to Ross Devine, which may see him miss the next couple of games.
Coach Ally Burns said: “ I was very pleased with the tempo and ball movement in the second half especially. The boys thoroughly deserved their win”
