Hurlford 1 Largs Thistle U16s 6

Largs Thistle kids kept up their extraordinary form to make it a dozen wins in a row with a thumping win at Hurlford.
Squad rotation was the order of the day for this game at Richardson Park as the boys once more rose to the occasion.
The winning run is all the more remarkable given it was the under 16s’ fifth game in 11 days.
The pitch was hard and bumpy making it difficult conditions for both teams.
Largs took the lead in five minutes when Reece Allen broke from midfield and slid the ball through to David Griffins, who outpaced the defence to slot the ball home.
The Hurlford keeper kept Largs at bay with some fine stops and well taken crosses.
Thistle finished the half strong and doubled their lead when an Allen cross from the right hand side was finished by Iain Bell from close range, at the back post.
Largs made it three just before half time when Danny Herrero-Redden broke up a Hurlford attack and strode forward into midfield.
His low pass was let run by Allen into the path of Bradley Morrison, with the striker finishing through the legs of the advancing keeper.
Thistle added to their lead almost immediately after the break when Robert Jack played a give and go with, the returning left back, Drew Clive, before drilling a low cross from the left wing perfectly into the path of Morrison’s near post run.
Number five came along soon after, when Morrison held the ball up well and played it through for Bell to outstrip his full back before finishing low, for his second of the night.
Hurlford managed a consolation goal when Largs failed to clear a high ball down the middle, and the Hurlford striker finished well.
Thistle rounded off the scoring five minutes from the end when Clive burst into the box from left back only to have his shot well blocked by the keeper.
Several other Largs attempts were blocked by the Hurlford defence before it eventually broke to Lee McShane to calmly finish from eight yards.
