When we said to Thistle match secretary Derek Scott that it was something like ‘The Generation Game” at Barrfields Park these days, he replied quick as a flash: “Well, we could do with some Brucie bonus points!”
Derek, 55, always maintains his sense of humour, and has a long association with the Barrfields club, having served the club committee in the early 1990s, And not only is Derek’s son Andrew, aged 33, busy coaching with the Largs Thistle U14s, and helping out in the Thistle backroom, grandson Ryan is club photographer and also assists behind the scenes. Even Derek’s wife Joyce works in the canteen.
