Largs Thistle lost out 3-1 to Renfrew on Saturday in a league defeat.
Keeper Steven Connick was in between the sticks, and Kevin Struthers was on target for Thistle to level matters before the interval.
However two goals in a three minute spell on 75 and 78 minutes ended Thistle's chances.
Reflecting on the Renfrew loss, Stuart said: "To me, all three goals were avoidable, and that is the really frustrating part. I don't think it was our worst display, and we played really well at times in the second half. It looked like there was only going to be one team who were going to go on and win it, and that was us.
"After being on top, we paid the price for not taking our chances. Conceding two goals in three minutes was disappointing, and we need to show a stronger mental attitude as it 2-1 down we are still very much in the game, and taking a draw at Renfrew wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world."
