Largs boss Stuart Davidson is calling on his players to keep their good momentum going heading into a big clash with third placed Cambuslang Rangers at Barrfields.
Thistle are unbeaten competitively since going out of the Scottish Cup, gaining two league wins, two draws, and a win in the West of Scotland Cup, and Thistle have a chance to move into the promotion places with victory on Saturday, 1.45pm kick-off.
Stuart said: “We have a chance to take over Cambuslang, but our main objective is to keep ourselves up there. Since the disappointment of the Sauchie game, we have been unbeaten in five. It was a big blow to go out of the Scottish but we have recovered well.”
However, Largs will have to do without wing-back Iain Fisher who is on a ski-ing holiday, while Laurie McMaster might be missing due to work commitments. Player coach Liam McVey has a calf injury.
“We have not been in a promotion spot for a wee while,” said Stuart, “so Saturday gives us an opportunity to move in there, and cement our position there for the rest of the season. I hope we can get a good home crowd to come on and cheer us on.
“I haven’t seen Cambuslang but have received some reports about them, and they are a strong physical side, and we will we go out and take the game to them.”
