Thistle boss Stuart Davidson believes his side are in fine fettle for the final ten league games  as they make the long journey to Kello Rovers on Saturday, 2pm kick-off in Kirkconnell.

Despite the disappointment of only getting a draw on Saturday, it has been offset by the fact that Largs were very impressive against the leaders, and have moved into one of the all important promotion places.

New signing John Carter has been immediately installed in the squad.

With only one defeat in the past seven games, Thistle are intent on staying 'within the zone' until the end of the season after reaching fourth spot in the highly competitive league.

Promotion means entering the new Super West Premier Division which will be extended to 16 teams next season.

Stuart said: "I was disappointed we didn't come away from the Petershill game with three points.

"I thought we started well, and we probably should have scored from one of our opportunities. I thought the boys were brilliant. They went into the dressing room feeling hard done by, and justly so, they have been going well. There wasn't much you could do about the Petershill goal - it was a rocket.

"It was a great goal too by Scott Adam, and you know if he gets a chance in the box, he will get it.

"I thought our work rate was tremendous, and the boys should have their heads held high after going toe to toe against the league leaders and putting in a good account of themselves. We have given them a right good game and need to kick on from that and use performances like that to propel ourselves going forward.

"We didn't take full advantage of the chances we had, and that was disappointing - we defended great and had some right good attacking play but we missed a few chances.

"Petershill set the standard in the league and we need to kick on from that and this level of display will give us confidence for the remainder of the season."

Reminded of the last game against Kello when Largs were 1-0 down till the 75th minute, and scored three times in the last 15 minutes, Stuart said: "I would take that again on Saturday, as long as we win!"

After Largs picked up a number of yellow cards, while a physical Petershill side got away with only a few, Stuart said: "You could say we are not getting a lot of luck right now, but I don't want to dwell on that, I just want us to continue to work hard.

"We really need the points, but I am happy with the way we have been performing and we will get there."
