There was a lot of Largs celebrating at the Waterfront on 31st January, as Largs Thistle won the Gourock Cup for the first time since 2011. Alan Cameron’s side came out on top in their match winning 9-6, and Iain Jones side narrowly lost their game 7-6. This gave Largs overall victory in a match that we have always found difficult after suffering some heavy defeats in recent years.
Largs lost their annual match against Ardrossan Castle for the Henderson Cup. The games were played at Auchenharvie on 6th February. The two games resulted in one win apiece. Linda Maxwell-Cox’s team won their game by 7-3, but John Thomson’s side suffered a heavy 13-6 loss.
This gave Ardrossan overall victory by the aggregate score of 16-13.
Clan host Fife Flyers on Friday evening, and are also at home to Coventry Blaze on Saturday.
