Troon 0 Largs Thistle 2
Largs produced one of their best displays of the season to overcome Troon in bitterly cold conditions at Portland Park.
The match started at a frenetic pace but it was Thistle who had the more measured passing game and they took the lead with a good ball through the middle. Big striker John Carter challenged with the keeper for the ball and won the aerial battle before tapping home into an empty net on 14 minutes.
Former Morton man Alex McWatters showed composure to make it 2-0 with a quality angled strike soon after.
Thistle had further chances to extend their lead before half-time.
Largs worked their socks off in the second half to hold on to their two goal advantage with Troon coming closest with an effort off the crossbar following a corner kick before Steven McCreadie was red carded late on for the Portland Park men.
