Thistle assistant boss Martin Crawford believes that this Saturday's Cambuslang match has the air of a derby clash as nobody wants to lose.
The stakes are high for both clubs in the promotion battle now that Largs have edged ahead of this weekend's opponents in the McBookie.com West 1st Division.
It is a 2pm kick-off on Saturday at Somervell Park in Thistle's 24th game of the league season to date.
The teams have played off two and a half times already this season, with a win apiece for each side.
It is a crunch encounter, with Thistle's promotion destiny hinging on getting as many wins as possible until the end of the league campaign.
Crawford said: "After the recent league and cup games with Cambuslang, it has taken on the air of a derby atmosphere, there is no doubt about it.
"In a way, that is a good thing in that it helps to focus the mind, and players will get their game head on, as you think there is no way you want to lose the game.
"To be fair, the games have been fairly good natured and very competitive, and that is what is all about.
"This was always going to be one of the toughest fixtures of the season.
"Both teams know each other well. It will be played in a competitive spirit, and hopefully we can come out on top."
"I am looking forward to it and I am sure we can do it again and get the win."
