Steady Eddie is Thistle Captain

Largs Thistle boss Sandy MacLean is hoping to sign experienced defender Alan Gilbride this week to fill the berth of departed skipper Ross McMillan.

Gilbride played for Largs three seasons ago and has played at senior level for Greenock Morton and Stenhousemuir, and can also play in midfield or even upfront if necessary.

Thistle play Partick Thistle on Wednesday evening as we go to press at 7pm, and have a derby encounter against Greenock Juniors on Saturday at 3pm, before facing Whitletts Vics next Wednesday, all matches at Barrfields Park. The new captain of the side is defender Eddie Walton.
