Wing wizard Sean Lawrence believes Largs can take great heart from their Scottish triumph as they bid to get out of their bottom spot predicament in the Stagecoach First Division.

Speaking to the 'News' on Saturday after Saturday's 2-1 win over Sauchie, the young forward, enjoying his second spell at Largs, said: "I had no idea my goal had gone in - I had been creamed by the keeper, I thought I was going to get a foul, and next thing everyone is celebrating, so I had to run and celebrate!

"We scored two great goals - great volleys. If you go 2-0 down to that, you can't really complain. And then we went one man down, which made it a bit harder but we fought really hard for it and deserved to win.

"The atmosphere in the dressing room is a lot better. Everybody is gelling together and we are getting the performances and the results, now and hopefully we can go on a wee run.

"That is my second goal in two games - someone needs to stop me now as I am on fire!"
