Thistle assistant Stuart Davidson has urged the team to carry on battling, and believes that the club can still pull off the great escape.

Largs are bottom of the Stagecoach First Division on 12 points, and with four teams getting relegated to the district league, time is of the essence. Largs face Yoker at home on Saturday, 2pm kick-off.

Speaking on Kicktalk Reboot, Stuart said: “I am scunnered for the boys, we had a wee lift with the goal at end of first half, and we showed what we were capable of, and we asked the boys can you do that for 45 minutes - and they gave us everything. A couple of decisions went against us and I am proud of the boys and the way they played in 2nd half.

“If we carry on playing like that, I believe we can survive, I really do. That is what we have been asking the boys since we came in - it has taken until the 2nd half and 2-0 down to Pollok until we have realised that is what we want to give. The boys have shown us that they can step up to the level we have asked of them, and we need to carry on that level, as we are sick of getting beat. That is five games in a row we have been beaten which is really unacceptable.

“We are bottom of the league, and I am sure the league doesn’t lie as people say, so it is up to us now to get ourselves out of that position.” Listen to Kicktalk Reboot below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qf_mkQBCbtA
