Largs Thistle kick off the new season on August 8 with a cracker at home to Kilbirnie in the Ardagh Cup on Saturday 8 August.

Both teams could face each other even sooner in the Kilbirnie Tournament on 25 and 26 July, which also includes Rutherglen FC and Renfrew FC.

In the Ardagh Cup, Thistle travel to West of Scotland Cup finalists Kilwinning on Wednesday 12 August, before hosting Ayrshire District Champs Winton Rovers on Saturday 15 August.

Thistle travel to Dalry on the 19th August, and round off their campaign with Beith at Barrfields on 22 August.

Largs have been given a tough first round assignment in the New Coins Holdings West of Scotland Cup with an away tie at Premiership Troon on a date still to be set.

The club is currently preparing for its AGM which will take place in JG Sharps on Thursday 2 July at 7.30pm, and is hoping for a good turn-out after the strong finish to last season. Manager Bryan Slavin will be giving a report at the meeting, and 200 club members and season ticket holders will get the opportunity to ask questions about the club. Officer bearers will also be voted in at the AGM.

Club President Martin Phillips has praised the fans for their help in bringing a new player to the club.

Through weekly raffles and prediction cards, the club are hoping to sign Dalry right-back Ciaran Friel. The club have also made a move to bring in attacking midfielder Lawrence McMahon from Kilbirnie.

The club will have a bagpacking fundraising event at Morrison’s supermarket on Saturday 18 July. There will also be a ‘Beat the Keeper’ event and bottle stall to raise funds for Thistle at this weekend’s Family Fun weekend at Broomfields between 12 noon-6pm on Saturday and Sunday.s.” Largs Thistle being pre-season training on 10 July, and their first friendly at Barrfields is on Wednesday 22 July against Saltcoats Vics. Petershill also come to Largs on Saturday 1 August.

The first league fixtures for Largs have also been unveiled... Shotts (H) - Saturday 29 August, Maybole (A) - 5 September, and Kilwinning (H) - 12 September.
