Jennifer King, 15, who swims with North Ayrshire Swimming Club was one of 12 swimmers from the Scotland Youth Squad taken by Scottish swimming to compete in the Amsterdam Cup on 7 and 8 December in Amsterdam.

The event attracted Olympic swimmers from Great Britain and all over Europe as it was a qualifying event for the World Championships.

Jennifer came 6th in the 400 Free and 5th in the 200 Back events. She also swam in the 400IM and 100 Back events.

Jennifer said: “It was an amazing experience and very nerve wracking, as when it came to the finals they darkened the lights and when your name was announced you had to walk one at a time out to the starting block.”
