For seven days between 19 and 25 February, Rotary clubs at Largs and Hunterston will be hosting an international Swimarathon.

The event’s purpose is to raise funds towards the End Polio Now campaign.

However, it is also a fantastic opportunity for local sports clubs and charities to raise funds for their own cause.

Although led by Hunterston Rotary, Largs Rotary will be getting involved in the event which is a global fundraiser aiming to raise resources and eradicate polio in the remaining countries where it is still present.

Teams and individual swimmers are invited to participate and collect sponsorship in return for swimming a distance set by those competing.

Half of the sponsorship money goes to the End Polio Now campaign and the other half to your own sports club or chosen charity. The event will be taking at KA Leisure swimming pools in Ayrshire, including Barrfields in Largs.
