A 15 year old girl from Largs was triumphant at the pool in a district championships event.

Fifteen of North Ayrshire Amateur Swimming Club’s senior swimmers took to the water at Tollcross International Swimming Centre last weekend for the prestigious West District Competition.

This event sees the best swimmers in the West of Scotland battle it out in a series of races across a variety of distances.

There were some superb swims on the day with an impressive 93% personal bests.

Special mentions go to Rebecca Weir (15) of Largs who won gold in the 100 metre breaststroke and to Rory Dickson (14) who won the 400 and 200 Individual medley races as well as the 200 breaststroke for his age group.

There were also excellent swims from Connor Tarran and Rosa Smith from Fairlie who achieved personal bests in all their events.
