Festival goers at Kelburn Garden Party were treated to an amazing array of entertainment; from live music and tight rope walkers, suspended over the Glen, to art trails and countless types of cuisine.

With thousands of guests camping in their tented village, plus caravans and motorhomes, the whole country centre was turned into a picturesque party for all ages.

The Kelburn Production team, which was set up especially for their festivals, went out of their way to create a peaceful event that was full of colour for all the family.

Flags, decorations, street art and crazy costumed entertainers, together with the aroma of international food and the occasional whiff of citronella competed to excite the senses with the sound of music located in every nook and cranny of the estate.

The style of music was eclectic and immense; from samba and folk to fusion and pop, there was something for everyone.

Organisers say that the Kelburn Garden Party is an important event, not only for Kelburn, but also for Largs businesses too; even Morrisons’ supermarket laid on extra staff and stock to keep up with the demands of the crowds at Kelburn.

and the town’s taxi drivers were kept busy, transporting visitors between the Garden Party and largs for supplies and transport links.

Commenting on the event, a jubilant, but exhausted David Boyle, the Viscount of Kelburn, said: “the festival has been a tremendous success; we sold out of camping and all event tickets.” He continued: “The festival just keeps getting better and better!” The Kelburn Country Centre closed to the public on the Monday and Tuesday after the festival to allow all the staging, rigging and festival paraphernalia to be taken down and removed in complete safety.

The next event to be staged at the estate is on 11–12 July with their bushcraft event, where visitors can learn how to build bonfires, construct shelters and live off the land in the wild.
