The Chopin Circle in Scotland is hosting international concert pianist, Grace Mo, as part of the renowned Music for a Summer Afternoon recitals in the Cathedral of the Isles, Isle of Cumbrae, Sunday 29th July at 3pm. Grace's Chopin Recital will be a chance to hear the exceptional musicality of this international prize-winning performer, who is travelling up from London especially to perform - pieces such as Chopin's Ballade No.1, Scherzos Nos. 3 and 4 and Chopin's much loved Barcarolle op.60. Thrillingly, she will compliment her recital with the world premiere of the Fantasy in Db Major and Sentiments Intimes by contemporary Classical Scottish composer, Henry James Creechan.

Grace Mo was born in Taiwan, raised in Canada, and now lives in London. She has studied at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. During her studies she won many prestigious awards and grants: at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Grace held the the Leverhulm Chamber Music Fellowship, Postgraduate Piano Fellowship, and the Postgraduate Artist Diploma. As a prize winner of many international competitions, she has performed solo recitals at major concert venues such as the Barbican Music Hall, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, LSO St. Lukes, St. James Piccadilly, Princess Alexandra Hall, Royal Overseas League House, the Marinu Hall, the Mozarteum, and the Concertgebouw.

Grace is also an active chamber musician and frequently collaborates with renowned musicians of world class orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. Her outstanding chamber music work and musical interpretations has recently won her the award title of 'The Best Concertmaster' at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in St. Petersburg, Russia (2011).

Henry James Creechan is a self-taught Scottish composer and pianist, married with three children and living his dreams. He learned to read music and through sheer determination taught himself the structure of music, in order to be able to write down the pieces he heard in his head. He composes in a Classical Romantic style and is inspired by both Chopin and Rachmaninov - now making his debut on the contemporary classical music circuit - a modern virtuoso whose music reflects his ability to soak up beauty and art within his passion and awe of creation.

For Henry James Creechan his dreams come to fruition when an exceptional musician gives life to his compositions and the collaboration leads to realisation. Grace Mo's recital on Sunday 29th July will be an exhilarating afternoon to cherish.
