SCOTTISH stars who kicked off their glittering careers 40 years ago in a classic show have wished Largs Players well for its revival.
Top actors Bill Paterson, Alex Norton and Dave Anderson cut their teeth in the grand scottish tour of ‘The Cheviot, The Stag, and the Black, Black Oil’ away back in 1974.
Musical comedy Now, they are hoping to see the Players’ version of the historic musical comedy about the Highland Clearances and the arrival of oil in Scotland.
The BBC Performing Arts Trust have given their blessing to the ambitious show, which was written by John McGrath, and is directed by Largs’ professional producers Maggie Kinloch and Andrew McGregor with musical director Ryan Moir.
The revival of the story on its 40th anniversary will be presented on the floor of Barrfields’ auditorium for the production from Thursday to Saturday, April 10-12.
Very few tickets are left for the limited premium table seats at £15, while balcony seats sell at £12. All tickets can be booked by phoning Fiona Carruthers on 01475 673882 and will be on the www.ticketsource.co.uk/largsplayers website.
