IT HARDLY seems like 20 years since Variations, the Largs Choral Group burst on to the local arts scene with their brilliant shows.

However, two decades later they are here, as good as ever, and inviting local music lovers to share in an evening of songs to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the choir.

This year’s spring concert will feature many of Variations’ favourite songs from their past concerts. As always, their conductor Rhona Gourley has compiled a varied programme of music, with something to suit everyone. Final rehearsals are going well as the choir put the finishing touches to the programme.

The guest artistes are the Wherries, a Scottish folk duo who have performed regularly throughout Scotland, mainland Europe and the USA. Their unique blend of Scottish and Irish folk music, combined with their good humour, is sure to entertain everyone in the audience.

Spring concert This concert takes place in Barrfields Pavilion Theatre on Friday 16th May at 7:30pm. Tickets for the concert, priced £10, are available on-line at www.variations.ticketsource.co.uk, and from Largs and Millport Information Bureau, as well as from any member of the choir or by telephoning 01475 522588.

So join in the Variations anniversary, and don’t miss out on what promises to be an enjoyable evening of varied music and songs.
