Ten year old Dani McKinlay from Largs has been chosen to be Princess for a day at the forthcoming Medieval Week to be staged at Kelburn Estate from Saturday 11th to Sunday 19th October.

Local women Christine Weir from Morrison’s and Gail Lavery from M&Co were the judges for the competition, which took place in Kelburn Pavilion Function Suite.

After capturing everyone’s heart, it was decided that the winner, Dani, chosen for her kind sprit and strong heart, would be joined by a special lady in waiting, four year old Sophia Low, and her twin brother, four year old Austin, as Sir Austin of Largs, Scotland!

David Boyle, Viscount of Kelburn said: “We are delighted to invite the first ever Princess of Kelburn to our Medieval Week, along with her Lady in Waiting and her Knight. And, a huge thank you to Christine and Gail for judging the competition, as well as Morrison’s and M&Co for their enthusiasm.” The lucky threesome will be treated to a VIP Medieval day at Kelburn complete with horse riding and time spent in the Secret Forest and the Play Barn.
