If you are interested in stargazing, then why not head to Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park this Friday evening from 7-9pm.
Muirshiel Country Park is Renfrewshire’s darkest sky, in a remote woodland, accessed only by a three mile single track road at Lochwinnoch. It is just perfect for stargazing, avoiding the glare from towns and street lights, and allows a clearer view of constellations, planets, passing satellites and other phenomena.
Staff from the Coats Observatory in Paisley will generously provide valuable expertise and insight. They will bring a fantastically powerful telescope along to help the viewing members of the public get up close and personal with the night sky.
The Observatory Officer with Renfrewshire Arts and Museums, John Pressly, is your host for the evening and has a fantastic knowledge of astronomy to guide you through the stars.
