One of Largs’ favourite sons, Benny Gallagher, returns with his yearly homecoming concert this month.
The legendary singer - songwriter will play some of his best tunes and regale fans with many a fascinating story from his time writing songs for the Beatles’ publishing company, Apple, as well as his work penning classic tunes and playing with Graham Lyle.
His songwriting credits include work performed by Art Garfunkel, Bryan Ferry, Colin Blunstone, Donavon Frankenreiter, Don Williams, Elkie Brooks, Garth Brooks (Concert in Central Park), Judith Durham, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Mary Hopkin, Phil Everly, Rick Nelson, Ringo Starr, Rita Coolidge, Status Quo, Simon and Garfunkel (Concert in Central Park), The Fureys, and Lemon Jelly to name but a few….
Benny plays Lounge on Sunday 22 February at 7pm. The concert includes dinner and tickets are available at the venue.
If you can’t manage the Largs gig, you have the chance to catch Benny in the intimate surroundings of the Harbour Arts Centre in Irvine on Saturday 21 February.
