Merry Christmas and a musical new year!

The live music scene in Largs over Christmas and New Year period is always lively.

On Christmas Eve, head to the Waterside as 'sensational' female vocalist Marj provides some fantastic festive tunes to make sure yule have a brilliant time!

The Sharps will be performing at the Waterside Hogmanay Party to make sure things go with a bang. There will also be traditional Scottish music with the Tilted Kilts Ceilidh Band, and piper Alasdair Sweeney and drummer David Purdie, to help see in the bells in style.

Over the festive period, big Verne and the Shootahs will be performing their annual gig at the Lounge bar and restaurant on Sunday 28 December - it will be their 21st consecutive appearance in the town.

On 2 January in particular, and sometimes the day following too, you can walk into many a pub in the town, big and small, and find a band playing.

The music tradition in the new year goes back generations in Largs, and in recent years, local ceilidh band Chanty Dyke regularly perform at the likes of Ye Old Anchor Inn, and the Royal Oak, while other live venues in the town such as The Waterside provide an electric atmosphere with top quality bands throughout most evenings.
