An all new art house has extended its first photographic exhibition after a good response from the public.

The Coach House Studio, based in Routenburn Road, Largs, opened on Saturday 20 June with its first exhibition, ‘The Photographic Show 1852’, showcasing the work of three photographers who have realised the vision of the new art house.

Kevin McGarry, who is the brainchild behind the project, has lectured fine art and photography at many international institutions including Cambridge University, and recently completed an art research degree from the Glasgow School of Art. The exhibition is open daily from 10am-5.30pm.

Kevin said: “When we came cross the old Coach House we just knew it had to be our new home. As an artist, it’s a fantastic space to explore what’s possible. The Coach House, dating back to 1852 acts as a creative escape for artists in residence.” He is joined by sailing and media photographer Marc Turner, who lives in Largs, and international travel and commercial photographer James McKinlay in showcasing their works. Themes include the Largs landscape, sailing, travel, and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Currently, The Coach House studio is appealing to investors to ensure the longevity of the arthouse project.

Open to all, the ‘The Photographic Show 1852’ was originally to run until 26 June, but has been extended till the 28th.
