Three of the bright young stars of 'Phantom Of The Opera' return to the stage this week for a laugh.

In fact, hopefully, there will be plenty of laughs as Ben Gilmartin, Alastair Maxwell and Jordin Revel make their debuts in the traditional Largs Players' summer comedy theatre at the Brisbane Centre.

Ben, who gave a powerful performance as the Phantom in the brilliant Largs Academy production at Barrfields a few weeks ago, will share a comedy role with Alastair in the one-act, 22 Hardcastle Court, being directed by Linda McMurray. Inverkip teenage actress Rachel Scott will also make her debut alongside Laura Edison, Sue McPhee and Drew Cochrane.

Academy graduate Jordin Revel will join David McGarvey in performing all ten shows in the comedy theatre which is now in its 22nd successive season. They take part in the madcap Grimm Brothers Spectaculathon, being directed by Kevin Janettes with Karen Wilkin, Alison Goldie, Kirsty Strachan and Laura Newton sharing some of the parts.

Since the popular holiday attraction began in the early 90s more than a hundred local performers have taken part in the promenade shows, with a few going on to professional theatres like Pitlochry. Largs has now one of the few remaining summer seasons in Scotland.

The shows move from a Tuesday slot this year to be staged on Thursday and Friday evenings, starting at the Bath Street buildingkk on July 16, and running till August 15.

Tickets at £7 are sold at the door on the evening of shows which begin at 8pm. For further information contact 01475 675599.
