The Viking Festival comes to its conclusion this weekend with the traditional Party at the Pencil, fireworks, and lots more besides.
The Irish historic flight taking place this Saturday at 3pm will involve four of their aircraft, and the Starduster Too returns on Sunday at the same time.
The food demonstrations continue on Saturday and Sunday, from noon and every hour thereafter, as Braehead Foods will be demonstrating gourmet meals, including chicken saltimbocca with sage and proscuito, seabass with warm sweet potato and chorizo salad and feta and courgette fritters with tzatziki. Free admission with voluntary donation.
It is the Party at the Pencil on Saturday evening, starting at 7.30pm, with a re-enactment of the Battle of Largs from 1263, complete with marauding Vikings and the burning of the longship.
The fireworks are due to provide a pyrotechnic spectacular at the Pencil monument at 9pm. It is the torchlight procession from Aubery on Friday at 8pm, and the model boat club display at Aubery on Sunday. There is also an open air theatre performance by Gathering Storm in the Burns Garden on Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening - www.gatheringstormscotland. co.uk For the full Viking Festival programme, go to www.largsvikingfestival.com
