If you fancy a trip on the ocean wave around the spectacular surroundings of the Isle of Arran, you may be in for a treat next month.

The Clyde River Steamers Club is chartering the MV Isle of Arran for a special Round Arran sailing on Saturday 13 January. The £45 price includes a two-course meal with tea/coffee in the ship’s restaurant.

Advance booking is essential for this unique midwinter opportunity to sail round the island after which CalMac’s oldest major unit is named. The vessel will leave Ardrossan at 11am and return at 4pm. A special £30 ticket is available for under 16s.

Isle of Arran is a favourite of many enthusiasts, and this is CRSC’s first ‘big ship’ charter for 14 years - since 7 February 2004, when Caledonian Isles sailed round Arran from Brodick.

The club was founded in 1932 and now has a membership of around 550. Monthly meetings are held in Glasgow from October until April.
