Torrential rain lasting for hours resulted in the Gogo Burn bursting its banks tonight (Wednesday evening).
The Haylie Brae has also been closed after unconfirmed reports that a wall had collapsed and there was other flooding problems, while there were also problem areas along the Main Road A78 trunk road outside Largs Yacht Haven.
Marlyn Green of Largs e-mailed the 'News' to say: "The Gogo has burst its banks. There is a river running down the Main Street. The usual shops are flooded, and a house near the Gogo Burn is under a foot of water." Traffic had difficulty getting through Fairlie too as a deluge from the back hills came rushing down the School Brae.
The heavy rain started at around 6pm and continued unabated for three hours.
