The Isle of Cumbrae is to feature on a BBC2 programme on Sunday 30 January entitled "Seaside Stories".
Millport features as one of three films in which BBC Two Scotland shows how Scottish coastal communities reflect on the changes they see to their own landscapes and what it means for them. Millport, Dunoon and Tiree are featured, with the films made by the communities themselves supported by the Learning Department at BBC Scotland. Largs Academy students on Millport have also been involved in the project, as well as locals and visitors to the island.
An intergenerational group from the town of Millport reflects on how there is more to their unique island than just cycling round Greater Cumbrae. In this film locals and visitors look at what has made Millport so special and what the future holds for this seaside town.
The programme "Seaside Stories" will be broadcast between 6.00pm 6.30pm.
The BBC website also features the programme at http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/learning/lab/projects/seaside/
