A Largs Labour Councillor has claimed that SNP First Minister Alex Salmond has undermined the chances of his local candidate Kenneth Gibson.
In a letter to the Largs & Millport News North Ayrshire councillor Gallagher said: "It would almost seem that the visit of SNP leader Alex Salmond to Largs was specifically designed to destroy Kenny Gibson's election chances.
"Nuclear madness", cries Mr Salmond (L&M 23rd Feb) on Hunterston, while fully aware that Kenny Gibson has been pretending for years to be in favour of Hunterston. I would be interested to hear Mr Gibson's response to his leader revealing the truth about the SNP's ideological attacks on Hunterston and the hundreds of jobs that it provides locally." Full statement and two pages of letters and readers' views in the Largs & Millport Weekly News of March 2.
