The 2014 Flying Dutchman World Championships at Largs, launched on Monday (today) Saturday and Sunday were boat measurement days, and the sailors also ventured out to test the waters after their measurements have been completed.

Racing started on Monday 14th July, and will be completed on Saturday 19th, after a maximum of nine races over the week. Racing will take place in the Firth of Clyde, North of Cumbrae, in waters between the Isle of Bute and the mainland. Competitors have come from eleven countries on three continents, with particularly strong contingents from Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain. A number of past champions are among the 43 competing boats, so competition will be fierce.

Racing started on Monday at 11am.
