Police have reminded cyclists to show caution and not to endanger themselves on icy cycle paths in the area.
Inspector Michael Oates, who is a keen cyclist himself, was appalled to see a cyclist coming down one of the icy slopes on the cycle path between the roundabouts at Hunterston.
He said: “At this time of year, cyclists should show more common sense, as not only was he endangering himself, but the bike could have skidded and fallen on to the road, and endangered others. I really couldn’t believe what I was seeing. They are taking their life into their own hands by doing this.“
