Millport's Sail and Oar festival has been cancelled.
The event, which has run in recent years in mid-August, had water activities for all, a skiff racing championship plus music, crafts and children’s events.
Emma newton, who has helped organised the nautical festival in recent years, said: “Due to a series of circumstances it is with regret that I have to inform everyone that Sail and Oar has been cancelled for 2015. it will be back in full swing next year, but the parent and toddlers raft race will go ahead as planned on Sunday 16 August.” A new revamped Country and Western Festival is taking place in Millport from 4-6 September and the Scooter rally will be revving up on the island once more over the weekend of 28-30 August.
