Douglas Park Bowling Club in Largs recently celebrated its 50th anniversary with a fun day of bowling in ‘The golden games’.
Members participated in a number of unusual games, where rules were loosely observed, with some very unusual outcomes.
The weather proved to be an unnecessary cause for concern because the tournament was played in dull but dry conditions.
The theme for the day was either golden, 50 or both, and many of the members joined in the spirit of the anniversary by wearing something relevant.
The winners were M Dobie - spider, J Black/E Chisholm/D Cameron/M Dobie/J Henney/A Paton/M Taylor/H Williamson – 1st team touchers, highest up rink – a Bruce/G Ireland and best dressed – J Henney.
Following the presentation of prizes a hot and cold buffet, prepared and served by Barbara McIntosh and her team, was enjoyed by all.
Pictured are the winners of highest up rink – Alice Bruce and George Ireland
