The Kelburn Equestrian Centre will be staging their very own horsey Halloween event on Saturday 31st October with an array of spooky shows and show jumping competitions.
The shows will include class competitions from Pony Club, Riding Club and Veterans to Horse or Pony the judge most wants to take home, Prettiest Mare, Handsomest Gelding and Fancy Dress. Whilst the show Jumping competitions include Team Show Jumping, Run and Rid, Team Relay and Wider and-Wider.
The event is open to anyone, whether you stable your horses at the Kelburn Equestrian Centre or not. And, if you don’t have your own horse, and are a keen and capable rider, you can borrow one of Kelburn’s horses by prior arrangement.
There are special Halloween entry deals available for teams and individuals to enter as many classes as you like; this also includes bedding and hay!

You’ve got to be prepared to be scared if you’re going to Kelburn Estates Halloween event, which will be held from 6.00pm to 10pm, on both Friday 30th and Saturday 31stOctober. Staged in the specially lit Secret Forest with the scariest of sights, sound and special effects, a host of abominable actors will take you through the evening event that is guaranteed to make your heart race and your blood run cold!

Visitors will follow the story of a Kelburn Ranger who was loured to his death by Kelpies, deep in the Forest of Kelburn. The Kelpies took his head and his soul, now he rides at night as the headless horseman killing and tormenting all those that cross his path.  Visitors must find his grave to end the reign this ghoulish gruesome monster of the night.  

Kelburn’s General Manager, Jared Bowers, said: “It will be the most fun and scariest Halloween family event we have ever staged at Kelburn, so visitors beware if you're thinking of bringing very young children.”

Jared added: “Halloween is a uniquely fun and scary event. I hope visitors will enter into the spirit of Halloween and dress in their best costumes!”

For those of a more gentle and nervous disposition, Kelburn Estate will also be staging daytime events from 10.00am to 4.00pm on both days with pumpkin carving, bobbing for apples, a Halloween fancy dress competition and guest the beast boxes where visitors are asked to place their hands into the unknown to see what their finger find!
