Buses between Greenock and Largs via Skelmorlie after 7pm are changing, due to McGills no longer carrying out the run.

On the Monday to Saturday service, there are now only two evening buses run by SPT leaving Largs for Upper Skelmorlie at 9.20pm and 10.50pm, arriving at 9.33pm and 11.03pm respectively.

There is a third bus which leaves Largs at 18 minutes past midnight, but does not go to Upper Skelmorlie, and just goes through the A78 of the village.

Some residents have voiced their disappointment about the changes on social media websites, stating that the hour and half wait between buses leaving Skelmorlie is too long, but some are happy that there is an evening bus service to and from Largs, as they hadn't realised before.

However, some Skelmorlie residents who work in Largs have said that they will have to talk to their employers about the changes due to the long wait between buses in the evenings, and getting home.

Despite the lack of buses from Largs, there are five buses which leave West Stewart Street for IBM, Upper Skelmorlie, taking in Inverkip, Upper Inverkip, and Wemyss Bay, leaving at 6.35pm, 7.35pm, 8.35pm, 10.05pm and 11.35pm.

And leaving Upper Skelmorlie for Greenock, there are buses leaving at 7.05pm, 8.33pm, 9.33pm and 11.03pm, with stops at Wemyss Bay, Inverkip, Upper Inverkip and IBM.
