The heavy rain and floods have resulted in a few unusual occurrences in the area, with flooding in Fairlie.
And a Peel Port fender which broke loose from their Hunterston terminal washed up on the shore in front of Bay Street on Sunday.
Resident Alastair Massey said: "The big fender is around six foot and is a long cylinder, about three foot wide. It has a bit of rope attached, secured it to some rocks.
"Children have come along for a closer look, and dogs look at it with puzzlement!"
Thanks to Carol McDowell for the picture.
