Keep fit fanatics, running enthusiasts, and all the family are urged to take part in a special charity fun run later this month.

The Haylie House Residential Care Home gets underway on the morning of Saturday September 24 from the Magnus the Viking statue.

It is the third year of the fundraiser, with two option of a 5km or 10km run along Largs promenade, and everyone is welcome including runners, walkers, cyclists, roller-skaters, dog walkers and more!

Bring the entire family, and enjoy the fun friendly atmosphere while helping raise money for the important local charity.

Taking place just one week before the Great Scottish Run - the event is the perfect training warm-up for anybody doing the race in Glasgow.

Entry is just a minimum £5 donation. All proceeds to Haylie House (towards improving the gardens for the residents).

Registration is from 9.30am on the Largs Prom just next to Magnus the Viking. Bring your £5 donation (or money raised through sponsorship) along to the desk, and get your running number.

The 5km route takes you to just past the 'Pencil' (to the Largs Marina road and back) and the 10km route extends out to Fairlie Bowling club and back (via the coastal path). It's almost all completely flat, so a perfect run, walk or cycle for everyone.

There will be a "water station" at the 2.5km turning point (and at 7.5km for the 10k runners), and more refreshments back at the finish line.

If raising money, download the official sponsorship form at www.hayliehouse.co.uk, or create your own JustGiving Fundraisers page.
