Police have reported two men in relation to an alleged serious assault in a property in Millport on Monday 21 November.
An air ambulance was required to take the 40 year old victim to Crosshouse Hospital after he was beaten around the head and body in a property in Ritchie Street.
The victim contacted the police himself to say that he had been assaulted, according to police reports.
Inspector Brian Skimming told the 'News': "Two men have been reported in connection with the incident - a 39 year old man who resides on the island, and a 40 year old who resides in the Three Towns area (Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston). There was believed to be a danger at the time to the man involved, hence why the air ambulance was required, and he needed stitches to his head."
