The Gillian's Saltire Appeal is branching out overseas - and have opened a brand new property in Millport.
The new property costs £62,000 plus repairs and maintenance, and is a ground floor property in Glasgow Street with views looking out to Crocodile Rock, and Wee Cumbrae.
The house will provide respite for people recovering from cancer, with the Gillian's Saltire Appeal.
This year alone, the Saltire Appeal has had 500 guests at their Largs flat, and it has been praised as a great facility by the Maggies Care charity. The Largs property at the Moorings, overlooking Cumbrae, is also owned by the Saltire Appeal and will continue.
The Saltire appeal is reliant on local fundraising including the annual Cumbrae to Largs swim, pictured below, which raised around £6500 in September.

Largs and Millport Weekly News:
Director David Ennis said: "We thought Millport would be a good place to open a property - it was always in our plan. The island is such as a popular holiday place for people from Glasgow, and it has a very special community atmosphere.
"The bathroom has been completely refurbished, and with lots of community events in Millport, we are sure the property will be popular.
"Access is perfect, and the refurbishment is of a high standard. The good thing is that we have good contacts in Millport, and John and Rose Burtt will be the flat managers on the island."
The directors also praised Secretary Johanne McIntyre for her valuable input in securing the Millport property and progressing the development.
The Saltire Appeal charity works closely with Maggie's Centres who are a network of drop-in centres across the United Kingdom, including Glasgow, which aim to help anyone who has been affected by cancer.
Kerry Craig and Joan Hemphill of the Maggies Centre said: " Over the past 10 years the holidays provided by the Gillian Saltire Trust have provided rest, recuperation and uplift for hundreds people living with cancer.
"Every day in Maggie’s we witness the devastating impact that a diagnosis of cancer can have and the many aspects of people lives that change.
"Physically and emotionally people may not be able to travel too far and practically not be able to afford a holiday so being able to offer people the opportunity to have a relaxing break in Largs, and now Millport, can be quite simply, life changing for some.
"The new Gillian Saltire property in Millport will allow more people to have a much needed break away in comfortable, homely surroundings. The generosity of local people in supporting the Gillian Saltire Trust is overwhelming. We are so very grateful for all the support the Trust continue to give to people using Maggie’s in Glasgow."
Rose Burtt said: "The flat is set to a very high standard and it is absolutely gorgeous, and put a new bathroom in which is fully adaptable, and it is absolutely gorgeous. It is just a small flat but it is really spot on, and very convenient. I can fully recommend it and I am sure it will be a big success.
"I think it is absolutely brilliant for Millport, and it is superb that Maggie's Centre is involved. This is a great thing for Millport, and very much needed. It is such a lovely and calm environment, and various events go on throughout the year, so I am quite sure people will enjoy what Millport has to offer. I am delighted to be involved, and it is a pleasure to help the Saltire Appeal team. The flat was left in perfect condition by the previous owners to whom we are very grateful."
The Saltire Appeal was set up in 2005 to commemorate the memory of Les Ward's wife, Gillian, who passed away from breast cancer, and on the day of her funeral, the image of saltire appeared in the sky through plane vapour, and ended up being the symbol of the charity.
