Inverkip Primary’s Athletic Team won the West of Scotland Final in East Kilbride.

Pancake Day

Inverkip Primary was taking orders for Pancakes for Pancake Day.

World Book Day

Children at Inverkip Primary were able to dress up as their favourite character for World Book Day on 2nd March.

Inverkip Church Eco Group

Members of the Church Eco group were out litter picking around the Church and on Millhouse Road. They filled 8 bags with rubbish and were dismayed that so many recyclable items were found. They intend returning to the Millhouse Road area as they have more litter to remove from there.

Friday Zone

The young folk attending the Friday Zone at Inverkip Church tried their hand at building Bird Boxes they were supplied with material by the Muirshiel.

Messy Church

Inverkip Church’s Messy Church enjoyed their second event. Adults and Children enjoyed taking part in “Treasure Hunt”.

Distillery

The Planning Department should have issued their decision on the Ardgowan Distillery application by the time this “news” is in print. Three top officials have been appointed for the Distillery so far.

Juvenile Pipe Band

Inverclyde Juvenile Pipe Band are looking for young folk aged 10–13 who play the Chanter or drums for their band. They meet in Dunn Memorial Hall, St John’s Church on Monday 6.30–7.30pm. For further information, contact Colin McDermid on 07734277648.

Meigle Institute

The meeting of the Meigle Institute on Thursday 16 March at Skelmorlie Community centre will have a talk by Rachel McTavish entitled “Insights of a News Reader”. The competition is for six pieces of Tablet.

Skelmorlie, Wemyss Bay and Inverkip Fellowship

A meeting takes place in Skelmorlie Church hall on Thursday 16 March the talk will be by Ian McCrorie on Paddle Steamers.

W.E.A

The meeting of the W.E.A in Skelmorlie Community Centre on Wednesday 15 March will be given by WEA Interim Director, Ray McCowan. He will talk on his vision for the future of the WEA in Scotland, what it might mean for membership and how members can be involved. The meeting talks start at 10am.
