A schoolboy’s idea to get his hair cut for the Little Princess’s Trust was so good that his mother decided to join him on his charity venture.
It was a case of ‘Keeping it in the family’ as both Scott Ogilve, and mum Joanne Caldwell braved the big chop last Wednesday, but it was all to raise awareness for a good cause.
And as you can see from the photos, Scott certainly let his hair grow to a very long length.
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to boys and girls across the UK that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
Thanks to the Boutique Hair Spa at Largs Pierhead for doing the big haircuts for free, and thanks go to St Marys Primary school in Largs for allowing Scott to grow his hair for this good cause.
Since its inception, the charity has now helped thousands of boys and girls. They work with suppliers throughout the UK and Ireland, all of whom supply beautiful, real hair wigs. The Trust continue to look for new suppliers all the time.
The charity has recently extended its mission to include, when funds allow, the provision of financial assistance for research into the causes of childhood cancers and into minimising the effects of chemotherapy in children.
And on this occasion, it was double the good work as both mum and son donated their hair to the charity.
